Volume Overview[edit | edit source]

Azusa Aizawa was a 27 year old "corporate slave" living in present-day Japan. After years of working non-stop without love, friends or rest, her body finally gave out on on her and she died from exhaustion.

Upon her death, she was greeted in the afterlife by a Goddess who took pity on her and allowed her to reincarnate into another world with any abilities of her choosing.

Wishing to live a life of leisure and peace, Azusa wishes to be ageless and immortal. The wish is granted, and she is given a house and the body of a 17 year old girl by the Goddess and awakes in another world, where fantasy creatures and magic exist.

For the first 300 years of her new life, Azusa passes the time by killing the numerous slimes that live near her home, and serving as a simple apothecary for the nearby village. By combining her magical skills as a Witch with her comparatively advanced knowledge from her past life, the villagers prosper greatly under her remote supervision. Azusa would earn the title as The Witch of the Plateau as time goes on.

However, unbeknownst to Azusa, she had also accumulated vast amounts of XP from killing the slimes over her centuries of life. After one of the village's Guild workers talks her into using a magic tablet to read her status. It's discovered that Azusa has quietly become the strongest being to ever appear in the known world. With the knowledge quickly spreading throughout the land despite Azusa's desperate attempts to stop it - fearing that she will lose her quiet and peaceful life.

Her fears are soon proven correct, and beings from all over the world begin to seek her out - either for training, battle, or help with their problems. But Azusa comes to learn that change can be a good thing, especially after 300 years.
